Flightline Resumes Training With Santa Anita Jogs – Horse Racing News

Undefeated Flightline was back on the track this weekend at Santa Anita Park after a hock injury forced him to miss a planned start in the San Carlos Stakes (G2) Saturday at the Arcadia, Calif. track.

The son of Central Kentucky sire Tapit jogged both Saturday and Sunday and is now “in a regular routine, where he’ll be jogging for 10 days to two weeks,” trainer John Sadler said, adding that the $1 million Hill ‘n’ Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) going one mile at Belmont Park June 11 is the long-range goal.

Winner last time out of the Runhappy Malibu Stakes (G1) in December, Flightline caught the eye of the racing world in landing his three career starts by a combined margin of 37 ½ lengths.

“We think his setback (with the hock issue) is over and he’s back to training,” Sadler said.

“He’ll start breezing in April.”

Flightline is campaigned by a partnership comprised of West Point Thoroughbreds, Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, Woodford Racing, and breeder Summer Wind Equine.
