Nightingale, the open-world survival game appearing during Summer Game Fest 2022 by Inflexion Games, will delay its early access to early 2023. The launch was set for 2022, but the devs decided to push it back to improve the game by upgrading to Unreal Engine 5 and focusing on making “key improvements.”
According to the Twitter announcement from the official Nightingale page, Inflexion will prepare news on the specific timing of the new release date when the time comes. As for their reasons, after “reviewing the potential UE5 has to offer,” they wanted to upgrade to the game development software earlier rather than later. Besides that, Inflexion stated they need additional time to make “key improvements, bolster content, and polish gameplay.”

To make up for the game delay, Inflexion will post more “game and development updates from the team” over the upcoming weeks. What that entails isn’t really explained, but we could imagine a close-up on in-game features and work-in-progress ideas/builds. While Nightingale will take a bit longer to launch its early access, it may become a better game due to the decision.
